「2021年(あの日から10年)」
今から20年前の2001年、
アメリカでビルに飛行機が突っ込むという事件が起こり、
ショッキングな映像を繰り返し見させられた。
これが人の手で起された事件であることから世界は混沌とし絶望感に包まれ混乱を極めた。
その裏で、
ラムズフェルドやライスが中東で大儲けしたのはあまり知られていない。
10年前、
未曽有の災害をもたらした東日本大地震が起こり、
人々は体験したことのない困難な状況を目の当たりにした。
その当事者として現地で這いずりまわり、
リアルなキャンプ生活を３ヶ月経験した。
この先の未来をどう生き抜くかとダラダラと思案を巡らせ、
紆余曲折ありながらもこうして石巻工房に携わっていけているのは幸運でしかない。
そして、
様々なジャンルのクリエイターというプロフェッショナルな集団が石巻に工房を立ち上げたおかげで、今こうして石巻工房は10年の節目を迎える事ができた。
おっと、言い忘れるところだった。
節目を迎えるついでに石巻工房は本まで出版するらしい。

2021年、
Covid19が世界を席巻し、
映画コンテイジョンのフィクションがあたかも現実になってしまった。
世界は意外にも脆い事が立証されてしまったわけだが、
その一方で人々が様々な形でこのウイルスに対抗し、
生き抜く方法を模索し、目に見える形に変え始めだしたのは、
ある意味、人類の進化をリアルタイムで見ることが出来る貴重な体験なのかもしれない。
さて、
10年後の2031年には人類は火星に有人着陸を果たし、
札幌まで新幹線が延びて全線開通するそうだ。
攻殻機動隊の世界では茅葺よう子が日本政権史上初の女性首相に就任するという。
電脳化が進んだとしても、
世界は相変わらず気分で動いているだろう。
だが、
同時に新しい苦難に直面したとしても人々は知恵を絞り前に進んで行くことに違いない。
震災から10年。
私個人的には、
経験した事のない感情に抗い、足掻き、迷走し、一筋の光を見出し、
なんとか平常を保ちながらも、
変わらなければいけないのは自分自身であると気付いた。
柔軟に対応し、如何に受け流せるかを学べたのもこの10年があったからだと思う。
最後に、
常にプランBを用意しておく事。
どんな状況になっても、
希望という名の希望がある、という事だけは伝えておきたい。
え？プランBって何？
それを考えるのが、プランBなのだ。

"2021 (10 Years After That Day)"
20 years ago, in the year 2001,
a plane crashed into a building in the US,
and we were forced to watch shocking images play over and over again.
The world was thrust into chaos, despair, and confusion at this man-made disaster.
Behind the scenes,
unbeknownst to us, Rumsfeld and Rice plotted to profit from the Middle East.
10 years ago,
the Great East Japan Earthquake brought about unprecedented devastation,
and people saw a difficult situation that they had never experienced before.
As one of those people, I crept around the city and experienced three months of real camp life.
In this way, while listlessly thinking about how to live on into the future,
through a series of twists and turns I luckily got involved with Ishinomaki Lab.
And,
thanks to the creatives of various backgrounds who established this workshop here in Ishinomaki, we are able to approach our 10 year mark, a notable juncture.
Ah, I forgot to mention.
We will be releasing a book to mark this milestone.

In 2021,
COVID-19 has swept the globe,
and the fictionalized scenes of the movie Contagion have become reality.
While the world has proven to be more fragile than expected,
at the same time, people are fighting back against this virus,
searching for ways to survive, beginning to make those solutions somewhat tangible.
In a sense, witnessing the evolution of humanity in real time like this might be an invaluable experience.
Well then.
10 years from now, in the year 2031, it seems as if mankind will have landed a man on Mars,
and the
shinkansen line will be fully operational, extending to Sapporo.
In the world of Ghost in the Shell, Yoko Kayabuki will become the first female prime minister in the history of Japan.
Even if brain-computer interface technology advances,
the world will continue to be driven by feelings [moods].
However,
even if humanity is confronted by new hardships, people will undoubtedly continue to rack their brains and move forward.
10 years have passed since the disaster.
As for myself,
I have gone up against emotions I have never experienced before, struggled, strayed, found a ray of light,
and somehow, while maintaining a sense of normalcy,
I realized that I am the one who needs to change.
Perhaps it is thanks to the past 10 years that I have learned how to be flexible and handle whatever comes at me.
Lastly,
always have a Plan B.
No matter what the situation is,
I would like to tell you that there is hope.
Huh? What’s a Plan B?
Just thinking about it is already Plan B.
